Soccer in the Streets: social media campaign
Overview
Soccer in the Streets is a not-for-profit organization that works to develop young leaders through sports-based youth development. Core to its mission is providing better access to quality soccer programs and making youth ready for employment. Founded in 1989 in Atlanta, the organization reaches kids through soccer play, work-readiness training, hands-on experimental activities, and participation in youth leadership councils. The organization is gaining worldwide recognition for its “Station Soccer” initiative- which builds soccer fields and community classrooms in and around metro transit hubs.
Challenge
Awareness for SitS is low even though they’ve been around for 30 years. How do you tell their story in an own-able way to get charitable donors and corporate sponsors to fund the program?
Communication Objective
1. Introduce Soccer in the Streets. Highlight the impact they have on the community through building dynamic hubs for learning and offering free-youth programming.
2. Get the community invoved by helping raise money to fund Station Soccer along with other programs through charitable donations, sorporate sponsorships, special event proceeds, and feeds from adult leagues.
